I have to be honest with you:
Being consistent is hard.
I tried to do the daily writing but I couldn’t do it.
But I realized something that is harder:
The regret of not doing something you want.
So, I had to revise how I will go about this writing habit before quitting all together.
What I noticed was that I didn’t want to practice this habit.
I didn’t lower the resistance to do the habit.
I also don’t have any training or experience in writing articles, so it’s kinda hard for someone to go all in.
My excuses and limiting beliefs blocking me from doing this habit were strong at the time. But the regret of not doing it was getting stronger.
So I have to be smart in doing this.
I like this famous quote hit hard:
“If I had 8 hours to chop down a tree I would spend 6 hours sharpening my axe.”
I had to change my approach to writing.
So, here’s what I had in mind:
- Read about writing for 30 minutes. Then implement it for 10 minutes.
- Read about topics on psychology and how it can help in writing
That’s about it.
I don’t know why it has to be that complicated. But I tend to do that.
That means, I will not worry yet about topics about writing, what to write about, how to write something, how to say something, how to get people to do something, how many words to write about, how to put a headline together, and so on, not until I learn them along the way.
No excuses, man.
My ultimate goal is to be a better thinker.
To be a better thinker, I have to write.
To write better, I have to read.
More about my writing progress in the future.
